Widener Sport Management Speaker Series Kicks Off Oct. 3


(Thursday, September 22, 2011) Widener University’s School of Business Administration will host a lunchtime discussion on Monday, Oct. 3 at 12 p.m. titled “A Look Inside the Financial Side of Professional Sports.” Frank Gumienny, vice president of finance for the Philadelphia Eagles, and David Debusschere, executive vice president and chief financial officer for Keystone Sports and Entertainment, will lead the discussion, sharing their personal experiences of working in sports finance.

Free and open to the public, the event will run 12-1 p.m. in Widener’s Lathem Hall, East 13th and Potter streets, Chester, Pa.

Gumienny manages all of the daily financial operations of the Philadelphia Eagles and Lincoln Financial Field. He oversees all accounting, ticketing and travel operations for the team. In addition, he handles the negotiating and contracting of special events and concerts at Lincoln Financial Field.

Debusschere joined Keystone Sports and Entertainment in 2008 and immediately became involved with the construction of PPL Park. Today he is responsible for ongoing stadium operations and also oversees Keystone Sports and Entertainment’s operating budget and all financial, treasury, accounting, insurance, human resource and information technology matters.
