The United Age Group Track Coaches Association (UAGTCA) is holding their 6th Annual Youth Invitational at Widener University this weekend. Sunday will be the finals. From the Director Ron Jackson, “In six short years our meet has grown to become one of the premier Youth Track and Field competitions of the summer…2011 promises to be a special meet with the introduction of the Steeplechase and the first live webcast of the entire event.” More than eighty teams from Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Connecticut, and as far away as Canada and Barbados participated in the event. Chester had two of its most famous teams at the invitational. A. J. Elite Track Club with Coach A. J. Thompkins has been participating in the event for four years. Chester Cheetahs with Coach James Wharton, Jr. is at the event for the second year.
