On Thursday, May 26, 2011, the Transition Program hosted their Awards Day program for students who participated in Community Based Training and/or Work Experience.  Each year we give an “Empowering to Excel” Award.

Criteria for the “Empowering to Excel” Award were:

Senior Student participation in at least two of the following options for
Transition Planning (Career Exploration, Career Awareness Class, Community
Based Training and/or Work Experience)
Since the student is representing our program, he/she needed to be a good citizen within the school community
Have decent grades (no F’s or U’s)
Good attendance
Commendable work ethics
And excel in the assigned position

This year’s recipient was Darnell Coley who will be attending Bloomsburg University for Sports Management in the fall.
