Drexel Neumann Academy 2011 Graduation

From the video

Drexel Neumann Academy (DNA) had their 8 Grade Graduation this evening at Neumann University. Although small in numbers, the 21 members of the graduating class were not to be out done. Parents and relatives were very spirited in chairing on their graduates.
Congratulations Graduate
The graduation opened with one of the best videos I have seen at a graduation so far. The video showed graduates past and present while playing “It’s So Hard to Say Good Bye to Yesterday” and then “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”. Students had spent their 5th grade to 8th grade years at DNA so they have accumulated a lot of memories. The responses from the audience with the added music brought the emotions home.

After the diplomas were awarded, several scholarships were given out. The most notable was from the Terri Glass Foundation made possible by the Hanway family and which gave four students full scholarships to high school. In addition to the other scholarships, the total in scholarships given out was $125, 000 dollars.

Graduating Class with Sister Gannon
Closing remarks came from Sister Maggie Gannon, OSF President. She concluded profoundly that “I have faith in Chester. This is Chester,” referring to the graduates. “This Chester” as she called them, “The Chester I know is filled with hope not violence or curfew. I am privileged to be in the City of Chester with this Chester.”
