Rotary Club Student of the Month 4

The Rotary Club of Chester recognized two Chester High School Students for their accomplishments. Student of the Month for March was Janasia Womack and for April is Brandon Smith.

Janasia Womack has maintained a high GPA and is an honor student. She has been taking honors classes and several college preparation courses. She is the current President of the Student Government. She has been actively participating in the Chester High School girls track team since the beginning of freshman year. In her freshman year, she made it to the district. In sophomore year and junior year, she placed with the team for third overall in the state championships. She will be graduating in June and has been accepted to Johnson C. Smith. She would like to get her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Health Science. Ms. Womack said, “This degree would allow me to work in the medical field. As a nurse, I would like to gain a position in a large health network in the sports medicine field. Ultimately, I would like to pursue a career as a physical therapist for any professional sports league.”

Brandon Smith is active with the Chester High School Band. He is involved with Youth Court. For a summer semester, he studied Chinese Mandarin at the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School. He has completed the Youth Leadership Program at Penn State University. He has participated in the Chester Youth Collaboration Program at Widener University. He is currently attending weekly Law Classes at Widener University in preparation for Law Day. Mr. Smith has also attended Villanova for the Chester Education Foundation. He has been accepted to Millersville University. He plans a career in law. He attended the Luncheon with his parents Sonya Smith and Dwight Johnson.

Congratulations to our Students of the Month. Thank you to Rotary Club of Chester for hosting the luncheon and for recognizing good students in our community.
